To the Social Assistance Applicants

1) In regards to the KSS Loan program, when you are applying and you say you want to pay for your bills, please bring your bills to the welfare office so they can be verified by the signing authorities. This was setup for Emergency Loans only!!!!!

The KI council have set a $100.00 loan limit.

The following will not be approved:

Travel Loans

Hydro One

Water & Sewer

Cable / Internet

Telephone

vehicle payments

C.O.D orders

Downpayments on items from the stores

Transfers

If other, it’ll be at the discretion of the Chief and Council.

The loan amount plus the administration fee will be deducted from your social assistance cheque at month’s end.

2) Purchase orders are issued from this office and only for groceries from the following businesses Tasona Atawekamik and Sam’s Store. The purchase limit has been set at $125.00 and please note that the purchase orders are for food and the children’s needs only, snuff and cigarettes are excluded.
